Berry Detox Smoothie

After staying cozy all winter long, finding the motivation to get out and eat healthy is hard! Gyms are packed with resolutioners and I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not interested in trying another diet. Instead of looking for the quick fix to lose all the winter weight, let's spend this new year celebrating each and every healthy choice we make!

Did you take the stairs instead of an elevator to get in some extra steps? Are you choosing to cook your meals at home and not eat out at lunch? And did you actually just turn down a freshly baked donut for your homemade berry detox smoothie?!

Give yourself a pat on the back! You took the time to make yourself a delicious detox smoothie and you declined a sugary, empty calorie defeat. Your berry detox smoothie is delicious and packed with the vitamins and minerals you need to power through your busy morning!

If you're needing an additional boost, try mixing in your favorite protein powder or a tablespoon of chia seeds! It's amazing how many superfoods you can mix into your morning smoothie. 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen California Giant mixed berries

  • 2 cups spinach

  • 2 banana, sliced

  • 1 cup greek yogurt

  • ½ cup pomegranate juice

  • 1 teaspoon finely grated ginger

  • 2 T flax seed

  • 2 T pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  • Combine all smoothie ingredients and blend until smooth. Sometimes you need to stop the blender and scrape down the sides to make sure all ingredients are incorporated well.

  • Pour into 16 oz cups and top with flax seeds and pomegranate seeds.

  • Drink with a straw or eat with a spoon.
