Logan's Berry Story

Meet Logan, our Marketing Intern and member of the California Giant Family! We are proud to share his berry story with you:

My name is Logan Rusconi and I am a senior at Boise State University. I grew up in the world of agriculture in the Central Valley where fields of produce and various commodities encompass the land. My family has been involved in this industry for many years. My grandpa owned an apple orchard that my mom and her siblings grew up on. In time, my uncles and then cousins branched into the produce industry themselves. They introduced me to the berry business where I have now found my passion.

This summer, I was fortunate enough to be a marketing intern at California Giant Berry Farms. Over the past three months, I have worked alongside the California Giant team to assist in various projects such as coordinating our 1st Annual Chef Invitational and the 5th Annual Tour de Fresh. Planning and implementing both these events was challenging yet incredibly fun and rewarding. They were also huge successes! 

During my time at California Giant, I have seen how the entire business works- beginning from the field all the way to the table. I have learned how the growing process works, the fundamentals of produce marketing, and the challenges that surface when selling a perishable product.

As I reflect on my time, I cannot say “thank you” enough to the entire team at California Giant for the opportunity to learn, grow and challenge myself this summer – and to truly feel like I am part of the California Giant Family. I will continue to look for the classic blue and red label in my local grocers, and SMILE as I reflect on my summer internship!
