Berries: The Kid-Friendly Fruit

Berries-The-Kid-Friendly-Way_360x360With back to school season starting soon (my grandkids have certainly kept me occupied with preparations), I've really been diving in to kid-friendly recipes. Some of my favorite discoveries include:

Patriotic Fruit Toast

Just look at how beautiful this snack is! You could mix and match the fruits you slice and cover the toast in cream cheese, ricotta, or even peanut butter. What combo would you use?

Kids can be weary of new ingredients, especially ones like quinoa. But in this food blogger's recipe for Roasted Blueberry Coconut Quinoa Parfait, I wouldn't suspect much complaint. How gorgeous is this parfait?

Strawberry S'Mores! This is one of our own concoctions inspired by food bloggers like Love and Lemons. Admittedly it's not a healthy snack, but hey—sometimes you want to indulge.

These were just a few of all the delicious recipes I found. Perhaps it's the berry-lover in me, but I couldn't help but realize that fresh berries are the perfect fruit for youngsters.Think about it! Sweet in flavor, small in size, vibrant in color...what's not to love? Every aspect of these delicious fruits is enough to earn the adoration of even the pickiest eaters.

What are some of your go-to snacks for your kids?
