Cal Giant | December 24, 2015

Merry Christmas Eve! We hope your holiday is filled with lots of love and joy. If you are still looking for an easy and scrumptious dessert to serve tonight, try my co-worker Sherry’s thumbprint cookies, filled with your choice of berry preserve. With only 5 ingredients, they are fast to make and sure to please your guests :)

2/3 cup sugar

1 cup of butter

2 cups of flour

½ teaspoon vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon almond extract

½ cup of sugar for rolling

Favorite berry preserve

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream the sugar and butter. Then add flour and extracts. Combine. Form dough into small, teaspoon sized balls. Roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Use your thumb to indent the center.  Spoon about ½ teaspoon of preserve into indentation. Bake for 14-18 minutes. Enjoy!
