A Watch Party Fit for Royalty

Cal Giant | May 17, 2018

Can anyone else believe the Royal Wedding is this Saturday? I think it's going to be absolutely magical!

To get into the royal mood, my girls and I are throwing a Royal Wedding watch party with wedding-worthy cakes, sweet finger foods and the only bubbly drink fit for royalty - champagne. Preferably Bollinger since its the first champagne to ever receive the royal stamp of approval. :)

We can all guess that Meghan and Harry's cake will be much larger than this gorgeous berry inspired wedding treat, BUT this cake would be perfect for you and your girls. You can enjoy this berry delicious cake during the ceremony, or maybe mini angel food cakes with blackberry whipped cream if you prefer whipped cream instead of frosting. Either way it's going to be such a fun day, and what's more indulgent than cake and champagne?

Part of our watch party will involve pampering ourselves so we also feel like princesses. We're going to enjoy face masks and paint our nails. Fun Fact: The royals aren't allowed to wear bright nail polish so they typically stick with nudes. Queen Elizabeth is partial to Essie's Ballet Slippers while Kate Middleton prefers Essie's Allure. I'm going to purchase both polishes and play a fun game where I cover the names of the polishes so my girls don't know which color they're selecting. Once we’ve all painted our nails, I’ll reveal the names and we'll get to see if our taste aligns with Queen Elizabeth or Kate Middleton!

Don't worry if you'd prefer to enjoy sleeping in this Saturday. The wedding will be featured throughout the day and you can always record the wedding and watch it later. I'm super excited to enjoy the berry inspired wedding cake but I always have a craving for sprinkles that can only be satisfied with a Strawberry Cake Stack. If your girls are like mine then they'll want to spend a portion of your watch party outside and an easy blueberry ice box cake is a refreshing sweet that will keep you cool if Saturday is a warm day.
